What Is Open Play?

Open play is designed for flexibility and ease. Instead of reserving a court or organizing a full group, you can show up during scheduled open play times and jump into games as they become available.

Players rotate in and out, which keeps things moving and makes it easy to get involved. It is one of the most common ways people start playing at Hawks Court, especially if they are new to pickleball or just looking for something casual to do.

How Open Play Works

Getting started is simple.

Buy an Open Play Session ( Or Use Your Pass)
Check the schedule and pick a session that fits your timing and skill level.

Check In When You Arrive
Once you arrive, you will check in, provide a wristband and add your paddle to the rotation queue.

Rotate Into Games Based on Format
Players rotate in as courts open up. Depending on the session, games may follow a mix-in, challenge court, or level-based format.

Play as Long as You Want
Stay for one game or several rounds. Open play is designed to stay flexible.

A lot of players try pickleball for the first time through open play.

You do not need to know every rule before arriving. Most people learn by jumping into a few games and getting comfortable as they play.

Paddles and equipment are available onsite, and the environment is designed to make first-time players feel welcome instead of intimidated.
